Chanting / Prayers

The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine revealed research results showing that chanting can help treat illnesses. It was found that chanting combined with meditation over a 6-year period helped diabetes patients reduce blood sugar levels, blood pressure, stress, insomnia, and migraine headaches.

This aligns with foreign research regarding meditation and chanting aloud, as the sound waves stimulate "happiness chemicals" and suppress "stress chemicals."

**Morning Prayers** This morning prayer routine takes only 3-5 minutes. It includes spreading loving-kindness to oneself and all living beings. It is suitable for everyone of all genders and ages and can be practiced daily. Daily recitation helps improve concentration and mindfulness throughout the day, brings auspiciousness to one's life, and ensures a smooth day. It is highly convenient for all genders and ages, and is no longer just for the elderly as was previously misunderstood. Various chants have been widely disseminated in many forms that we have become familiar with seeing and hearing. Today, chanting plays a larger role in life, with children and teenagers showing increased interest—ranging from standard bedtime prayers to the *Chinabanchorn* chant, the *Yod Phra Kan Phra Trai Pidok*, and many other verses. However, for those just beginning to chant who may not yet know that beyond gaining mindfulness and a peaceful heart, there are "Benefits of Chanting" or the results received from the practice.
